GERBER Laser Vortex Nationals TV coverage

by Vortex Class 29 Oct 2003 14:14 GMT 29th/30th October
The GERBER Laser Vortex Nationals is televised on Sky Sports in October © Vortex Class

The superb television coverage of the GERBER Laser Vortex Nationals, held at the Royal Torbay Yacht club in July is due to be screened both tonight and again tomorrow. (See changed timings below)

What an event this was - the wind blew, the sun shone, GERBER provided their Legendary apres-sail and the result went right down to the wire. With commentary by Jo Richards, the coverage is from 'close-in' and features outstanding aerial shots from a helicopter with fast action, spills and thrills all the way. The exciting last race has some awesome shots of the Vortex fleet at full speed as the chopper sweeps just over their masts down a flat out reach. Not suprising then that the producer has described the event as producing some of the best footage he's made in the UK.

If you miss seeing the coverage on Sky, DVDs will soon be available from the producers or the Laser Centre.

There has been a slight change to the schedule so the current timings are now:

  • 29th October - Sky sports 3 17:00
  • 29th October - Sky sports 2 22:15
  • 30th October - Sky sports 2 02:45
  • 30th October - Sky sports 3 12:00
