The Aussies go to extremes to impress!
Although information is thin on the ground, as the Aussies haven't supplied me with any race reports yet. Some competitors seem to be taking the dress code for the presentation dinner a bit seriously (see picture). Having taken to extreme ironing on the course it would seem!
Whilst 3137 'In Gods hands' is putting in an almost unassailable set of results in this hotly contested 40 boat World title regatta. She is moving comprehensively ahead from 3149 Laughing Sam's Dice' and 3124 Moe's Tavern' second and third respectively.
Conditions have been windy with the first invitation race being cancelled, but competitors are revelling in the conditions at George's River Sailing Club, Sydney NSW. As well as enjoying the sun the competitors have undoubtedly enjoyed the new year hospitality that only the Australians can deliver.
The regatta finished on the 7th January so let's hope that all that ironing will be worth it!
