Team Marconi Sailing Club at the Sprint 15 Nationals

On the weekend of 18th – 20th August 8 members of Marconi Sailing Club joined 75 other competitors at Brightlingsea Sailing Club – a reasonably local host for the Sprint 15 National Championships.

The team consisting of David Ball, Jenny Ball, Kevin Dowley, Paul Harrison, Kevin Kirby, Fenella Miller, Jon Pearse and Peter Richardson took to the familiar waters of the Blackwater Estuary to compete in 7 races over three days.

A weekend of glorious sunshine did not always bring with it the wind, however the team did well overall with Jenny Ball taking the crown for first Marconi boat, followed by Kevin Kirby and David Ball respectively. Kevin Kirby also won the trophy for the Over 50’s category and was also presented with his trophy following his recent Southern Area Champion win.
