Following the cancellation of the previous two weeks racing the weather forecast was being carefully checked by the Race Officer Richard Lilley. Richard would be assisted for the morning by Jenny Howells. This, the third race of the series was sailed on Sunday 21st October 2012. At 10.00am the wind was coming from the North North East at a shade over 10 knots average, gusting 11. 13 fast fleet boats, 11 Medium fleet and 3 Slow fleet boats had signed up this morning.

The fleets got away on time with Nigel Walbank first to show at the end of the first lap in his Musto Skiff, second was the International Canoe of Peter Conway followed by the RS 400 of John Cooper & Becci Wigley. By the end of the final lap Nigel Retained his lead from John & Becci, but third over the water would be Mike & June Baker in their Laser 4000, only to be relegated to 5th place when the handicaps were applied. Keith & Julie Willis in another RS 400 now occupied third spot on handicap.

The Medium fleet started 5 minutes later with Richard Russell being first to show in his RS 100 from David King in his Laser Radial. At this Stage Tim Knight in a Standard Laser was third.
