Terry Flynn's Tejas holds advantage
Despite a 10 in Saturday's only race at the J/22 North American Championship, Terry Flynn's Tejas holds the top spot heading into the final day of competition from Houston Yacht Club in Texas. Now that five races are scored, a discard comes into play, allowing local Flynn to drop the 10 and leave a line of 1,1,3,1 for 6 net points. Marvin Beckmann's The Martian moved up to second place with 12 points, just one ahead of Brad Julian's Team ThreeDories.com. Travis Odenbach's Sea Bags Sailing Team is also in the mix with 15 points in fourth.
Breeze at 6-8 knots just didn't hold for the 39 teams from across the United States. In the lone contest, Wiley Rogers' Baby Doll took line honours, trailed by Chris Wientjes and Julian.
Racing concludes Sunday with a start time moved forward one hour. Photos are available on the J/22 Class Facebook page, and complete results are available at www.j22na.com.
