If you're heading to the London Boat Show in January to get your new year fix of all things boating, then make sure you drop by the RYA stand (D007) for all the latest advice and information.

Throughout the week we will be joined by members' of the RYA's Regional Development Team, experts from our Cruising, Legal and Government Affairs, Training and Membership teams who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the boating you do.

Visit the Information Hub to find out where your nearest club or training centre is located or where to find a specific course near you. Pick up useful information about boating abroad or buying a second-hand boat or simply find out more about all the great offers available to RYA members from over 50 member reward partners.

You'll also be able to purchase titles from the RYA's extensive range of publications, as well as trial the ever growing series of eBooks, with their interactive content great for enhancing your skills or as the perfect instructor aid. As usual RYA members enjoy a 20% discount on all publications purchased at the show or collect your discount code from a member of staff to claim your 20% discount (including eBooks) through the webshop.

As well as scrolling through the great features of our eBooks, on one of the many iPads on the stand, visitors will also be able to trial the RYA SafeTrx App. Exciting new features include a new Emergency Call feature, in-App weather forecasts, personalised checklists and a new Mobile Logbook feature which stores up to 20 trips on your phone. Drop by the stand to find out exactly how it works, learn how to log a trip and find out how it could benefit your safety out on the water.

With safety in mind, you'll also be able to pick up a copy of the latest edition of the RYA Safety Advisory Notice. Compiled for the leisure boater, the notice's third edition will focus on critical safety issues and trends that have arisen from incidents across the past year.

A visit to the stand is also the perfect opportunity to pick the brains of RYA staff about the 2016 ARC Channel Islands Rally in association with RYA Active Marina. Find out how you can sign up for this great adventure that includes preparation advice and support from a lead boat, combined with a cruise-in-company and social activities ashore.

The show is also a great place to find out more about the benefits of RYA membership. Join, renew or why not share the RYA membership experience with your friends and family and take advantage of the Refer a Friend scheme. Not only will your friend enjoy a discount on their membership when they sign up, but you'll receive your choice of free gift as a thank you for your support. Chat to member of staff on the stand for more details.

And finally, don't forget to join us on the stand (D007) on Wednesday, 13 January as legendary sailor Sir Robin Knox-Johnston presents the prestigious RYA Yachtmaster™ of the Year award for 2015. The winner of the esteemed annual award will be recognised for demonstrating outstanding skills and knowledge as a skipper and will have exhibited their outstanding expertise during their Yachtmaster exam.

The RYA Yachtmaster™ qualification itself is highly respected around the world, and is a great entry level command certificate for those wishing to work within the maritime industry as a skipper. With more than 3,500 candidates taking the RYA Yachtmaster™ certificate of competence exam every year, it's always a challenge to identify the most worthy candidate to receive the impressive trophy, which is donated by the Royal Institute of Navigation.

If that's not enough to keep you busy then the show itself plays host to over 300 marine brands, showcasing thousands of boats, products and services, it's a great place to see the latest trends, technologies and innovations. Visitors can also expect a number of new attractions at the 2016 show including the 60's boating attraction and Mediterranean Bay.

And remember, as an RYA member if you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the show members can relax in the exclusive RYA Members' Lounge situated in the Platinum Suite, serving food and beverages throughout the day. A self-service cloakroom is also available.
