After the Covid break it was a great relief for the windsurfers and sailors of King George Sailing Club to get back on the water as the sailors held their annual Easter regatta.

Good Friday was the Hot Cross Bun Handicap Race.

The race got away first time and it was Vincent Horey (Solo) who lead at the first mark from David Reekie (Solo) after the wind went right on the first beat. The faster boats sailed through Downwind and Lead by Tim Le Couillard in a Laser and Mark Healing in a RS600. The RS600 went on to take line Honours, but it was Tim Le Couillard who took the win on corrected time with Vince Horey in second. Mo Allen pulled through the fleet in a Radial as the wind increased to take Third.

Saturday was the 10 race sprint series all boats running off scratch with a Windward Leeward course giving the Junior boats a head start. David King, Vince Horey, David Reekie, Harry Mitchell and John Mathews all won races, but it was Harry you won the event with David King second who recovered from several swims on the Run. John Mathews in his contender rounded out the top 3.

Easter Sunday was the 90 Minute Pursuit race.

Harry Mitchell started first and lead for a lap until he fell into a hole and was passed by the Solo of Vince Horey and then the Lasers. After an hour the 3 Lasers of Tim and James Le Couillard and Leo Bridger where now leading. James broke away and had a large lead with two legs to go. Unfortunately he fell into a hole and Leo closed right in making him go high and allowing Vince and Tim to close in by going low. On the last run Vince. Horey gybed out towards the middle of the Lake and picked up more pressure to slide through on the Run to take the win and Easter Cup, Tim Le Couillard sailed consistently all weekend to finish second and Harry Mitchell in his Tera was third.
