With the Noble Marine Rooster RS400 National Championships at East Lothian Yacht Club just two weeks away, the much-anticipated fleets allocation and buddy groups have been announced.

The list is here...

Rooster's generous title sponsorship includes daily prizes for the top three boats in the gold, silver and bronze fleets throughout the event, meaning that every sailor has a chance to win.

The RS400 fleet adopted the Buddy Group system from the RS200s. It is now an integral part of the National Championships, designed to help sailors get to know each other and for the better sailors to help those with less experience progress.

Each Buddy Group has three pairs - usually one gold, one silver and one bronze boat. The Buddy quiz is the first big social event of the championships, perfect for buddies to get to know each other. There is a Rooster buddy prize at the Championship prize-giving for the best placed group.

East Lothian Yacht Club have agreed to arrange the dinghy park so that sailors should be next to their buddies.

Online entry for the event closes at midnight on 1st August and additional entries would be very much welcomed. As well as the buddy groups, the event includes tow other initiatives to make it as inclusive and welcoming as possible. There will be Pre-Nationals Coaching with 2x National Champions, Stewart and Sarah Robertson on the afternoon of Sunday 7th August, for those in need of some moral support or wanting tips on the venue and/or boat tuning, plus a tactics talk from expert local sailor Jim Sinclair.

East Lothian Yacht Club are very much looking forward to welcoming the fleet to their unique venue, where as well as a superb race area, with 3 race areas to choose from, depending on wind direction, they have pulled out all the stops shoreside too - the socials include complimentary Scotch Pies and a Commodore's Reception, a Championship Supper and a Paella Night.
