After 10 successful years at the helm, Mick Norman and team have stepped down after the 2023 championship. With the knowledge that they have big shoes to fill, new event chair, Mark Coupar and team have been busy preparing for a new era in 2024.
United Kingdom Firefighters Sailing Championship (UKFSC) is open to all firefighters, past and present, along with regular entries from Police, Ambulance and RNLI crews, the event is held every spring in The Solent and raises much-needed funds for many charities. - A staggering £130,000 to date!
Sport has an important place in the uniformed services, and is critical to the well-being, health and morale of all who are serving and have served. Sailing especially provides much more than physical benefits, it builds comradery, offers friendship, boosts self-esteem, improves confidence, and reduces tension & stress. This event celebrates unity and builds cohesiveness among crews. It's the highlight of the sailing calendar.
The 19th United Kingdom Firefighters Sailing Championship (UKFSC) 2024 will be taking place from Monday 29 April to Thursday 2 May out of Cowes with a familiar format to previous years and some exciting additions to keep things interesting for 2024. Of course, the highlight of the event will be the four days of sailing, three days of racing and some excellent socials in between.
Our generous sponsors continue to make this event possible, and for 2024 we are especially grateful to our long-standing Platinum sponsor WH Bence.
There are still sponsorship opportunities available for companies who would like to get involved in the event, raise their profile, and make tax-efficient charitable donations all at the same time. Please contact for more information.
With a new era comes a refreshed brand for the event. Proudly building on 18 years of excellence, the new committee are looking to the future. The refreshed brand highlights the focus on remaining relevant for today and fit for the future. Along with a refreshed brand comes a brand-new website which allows teams to book their place directly, read the notice of race, and most importantly, during the event check the results.
More information on the event including full notice of race can be found at www.ukfsc.org.uk along with updates and photos on all social media channels.
