Leading performance sailing apparel brand Zhik is excited to continue its support of French skipper Yoann Richomme on his 2024 Vendée Globe journey.

Richomme, one of the most skilled and respected sailors of his generation, is taking on the challenge outfitted with Zhik's high-performance, innovative sailing gear, helping him face the extreme challenges of the world's toughest solo, nonstop, and unassisted yacht race around the globe.

Already smashing records, Richomme yesterday covered 579.86 miles (1073.9km) in 24hrs, the fastest ever recorded single-handed on an IMOCA boat, with the leading group also breaking records behind him.

The Vendée Globe, which takes place every four years, draws an elite field of skippers from across the globe. Known for pushing both athletes and equipment to the limits, this race has earned its reputation as the ultimate test of endurance, skill, and resilience. Richomme is no stranger to these demands, having achieved an impressive record in offshore racing, including victories in the Route du Rhum and Solitaire du Figaro. Now, as he tackles the Vendée Globe for the first time, he will rely on Zhik's cutting-edge technology to support him through the unpredictable and often punishing conditions of the open ocean.

"I'm thrilled to be partnering with Zhik for this Vendée Globe challenge," said Richomme. "Zhik's commitment to innovation and performance perfectly aligns with my approach to racing, and I know I can depend on their gear to perform in the toughest conditions."

Richomme's gear for the Vendée Globe includes Zhik's state of-the-art OFS800 and OFS900 ranges, specifically designed for extreme offshore sailing. With durable waterproofing, superior breathability, and reinforced seam technology, Zhik's gear provides the essential protection and comfort necessary for high-performance sailing. Additionally, Zhik's INS200 and quick-dry technical tops demonstrate a sustainable approach, reflecting both Zhik and Richomme's shared commitment to sustainable sailing.

Johnny Rodgers, Zhik Head of Marketing/Partnerships and Global Sponsorship Manager, expressed his excitement for the partnership, saying, "Yoann's skill and determination make him an ideal ambassador for Zhik, and we're honoured to support him in this monumental endeavour. We're dedicated to creating gear that enables sailors to reach new heights, and we can't wait to see what Yoann will accomplish with our support."

As Richomme continues his incredible challenge, Zhik invites fans and followers to join them in cheering him on through the Vendée Globe. Zhik will share exclusive updates on his progress, insights into the unique demands of solo sailing, and a closer look at the gear that will accompany him throughout the journey.
