1-2 March 2008
This year’s RYA Dinghy Sailing Show, in association with Yachts and Yachting and Suzuki will culminate with a magnificent celebration of dinghy sailing’s ‘National Champions’ at a special presentation recognising the achievements of all the class winners throughout the dinghy sailing world.
The elite of dinghy racing will be present to crack open the bubbly and celebrate in a magnificent ticker tape parade on the main stage (Sunday 2 March, 16:30), with winners from across the UK dinghy classes taking part in this fabulous show finale.
Special recognition will be given to Firefly class champion Steve Tylecote, who this October earned the title of ‘Champion of Champions’ by winning the Endeavour Trophy, a contest which, for the past 28 years pits all the class winners against each other in the ultimate dinghy sailing race.
Jenny Curry, Dinghy Sailing Show Event Manager said: “This is a great opportunity to get the crème de la crème of dinghy sailing together and celebrate in style the outstanding talent we have within this sport. An event like this just goes to show how diverse dinghy sailing really is. The ‘National Champions’ celebration will be a fantastic way to close the show.”
