Australian Fireball Championship Gear Guide

by Robin Inns 13 Jan 2009 07:56 GMT 28 December 2008 - 4 January 2009

The 2008-09 Australian Fireball Championship was recently sailed at Hervey Bay, Queensland. Below is a gear guide of the top six competing teams. There were 5 different sailmakers, and 5 different masts represented. Boat speed was very even. It was the teams who made the fewest mistakes who won races.

We now look forward to the next Australian Championship to be held at picturesque Port Stephens in New South Wales. The fleet is looking to build as we get closer to the 2012 Fireball Worlds planned for Mandurah in Western Australia – now only 3 years away! What a great time to become involved in Fireballs.
