Burnham Week dinghy regatta at Burnham Sailing Club preview

by Mel Lewis 8 Aug 2011 12:18 BST 27-29 August 2011

A newly formatted three day, 8 race dinghy regatta over the first weekend of Burnham Week is a must for the end of the summer. It is open to all – young and old alike and any dinghy rating lower than 1645 (this excludes Optimists).

Committee boats and specially laid courses will help ensure better windward starts to accommodate any wind direction. With racing operating from the Burnham Sailing Club and the Creeksea Sailing club, there will be plenty of variety and competition.

Ample parking and launching facilities are avilable at the Burnham Sailing Club in the town and the Creeksea Sailing Club, which has suitable launching for high performance skiff style dinghies. Racing will be controlled by Principal Race Officer Digger Harden. Details are available on the Burnham Week website www.burnhamweek.org.uk which includes the Notice of Race.
