Celebrate the Centenary of legendary boat builder Jack Holt at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show (3-4 March 2012, Alexandra Palace, London) where you can learn more about his innovative boat designs as well as experiencing the largest ever collection of Jack Holt designed dinghies under one roof.
In a career spanning over 60 years, Jack Holt was one of the greatest small boat designers that Britain has ever had, designing and building dinghies which made the Holt name famous including the Cadet, the GP14, Heron, Hornet, Solo and Enterprise.
“There will be few visitors to the Show who have never sailed in at least one Holt design. This year’s show is a great opportunity to find out not only about all the boats he designed and why, but to find out a bit more about Jack Holt, the man who brought dinghy sailing to the people” said historian and sailing journalist David Henshall.
Hear all about the impact of Jack Holt’s designs on dinghy sailing in the post war era and how they have shaped dinghy sailing today with David Henshall’s illustrated talk which will take place on the Volvo Main Stage at 13:45.
The collection of Jack Holt designed dinghies, brought to you by the respective class associations, will be proudly showcased throughout the weekend in the West Corridor.
