The RYA Volvo Dinghy Show was a great event for Suntouched Sailboats. The number of visitors on both Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th March confirmed the healthy state of dinghy sailing in the UK.
Devoti Finns, supplied by Suntouched Sailboats, attracted a lot of attention, both on the Olympic themed Harken UK stand and the British Finn Association stand, where Mike Woodhead, who is responsible for the BFA stand each year, organised a champagne naming ceremony for his new boat.
The Devoti D-One, on the Cirrus Raceboats stand, with the Devoti Icon and the Blaze, received a stream of visitors, resulting in bookings for test sails at a number of clubs in the south, the south west, the east coast and the midlands.
The British D-One Association was also formed during the show.
The launch of the Sandiline brand of sailing clothing onto the UK market was extremely successful and although this was intended only as a branding exercise for this exciting new product, a great deal of clothing was sold from the stand.
With four different models of hiker, longjohns, splash tops, dry suits, base layers and PFDs, there was something to suit every sailor and every type of dinghy. Sandi Ljutić and Denis Paliska, from Sandiline in Slovenia, thoroughly enjoyed their introduction to the UK market and are looking forward to coming back next year.
