Race 8 of the LTSC Winter Dinghy Series was sailed on the 2nd December 2012. 23 boats had signed up, 13 fast fleet, 7 medium fleet & 3 slow fleet. The Wind was coming from the West North West at 5 knots gusting at least 6 knots.

John Levell was the race officer this week assisted by Steve Homewood. The fast fleet set of at 10.45 with Luke & Emma McEwen in an RS 800 leading the way, second at the end of the first lap was Peter Conway & Ginny Harvey in their International 14. Third was John Cooper & Becci Wigley in the first of the RS 400's. Although these positions would remain at the end of the second & final lap the computer had different ideas. On corrected times John & Becci took the honours from Luke & Emma with Giles Chipperfield third in his D-One having relegated Pete & Ginny to fourth place.

The Medium fleet got away at 10.54 with Mark Barwell & Louise Johnson in their Merlin Rocket leading the pack. Second was Richard Russell in his RS 100 followed by The Blaze of Stuart Watson. At the end of the second lap Mark & Louise remained in first position over the water but both Stuart Watson & Geoff Havers & Jo Barriball had risen through the fleet pushing Richard back to fourth place. Again the computer did its wicked work. Adrian Baker in his Streaker was catapulted from fifth over the water into first place on corrected time with Stewart Watson taking second and Mark & Louise third.

The three slow fleet boats set off with the medium fleet, two Tera Pro's & one Tera Sport. Robby Boyd in the first of the Tera Pro's took first place from Jonny Tait in the second Tera Pro with the Tera Sport with Tom Goacher onboard bringing up the rear. Although a convincing win for Robby in his Pro the Tera Sport of Tom Goacher only missed second pace by 4 seconds on corrected times
