This popular annual dinghy and cat regatta is organised by Gurnard Sailing Club and caters for a wide range of boats and abilities.
The sailing area for smaller dinghies is in the protection of Gurnard Bay, while the faster boats race further afield on the challenging waters of the Western Solent.
The programme involves 6 or 7 races over the 5 days for about 150 boats, together with a variety of social events in the evenings.
There are class starts for any fleet of 8 boats or more, plus four handicap groups. This usually means class racing for at least Shadow cats, RS400s, RS100s, Laser Radials, and Laser 4.7s.
Title sponsors SailSpy, the U.K. sailing specialist for GoPro cameras, have donated a GoPro camera to be won by a lucky entrant in a prize draw.
Gurnard SC are able to offer free entry to any visiting competitor who does not normally sail on the Isle of Wight. The free entry is to offset the cost of the ferry travel incurred in bringing a boat to the event.
The club also gratefully acknowledges additional support provided by LDC Sailing, Ancasta, Marineware and Fastnet Insurance.
