See also: www.jerseyregatta.comThe 25th Anniversary of the Jersey Regatta, the Island’s ‘flagship’ event, kindly sponsored for the fourth year running by leading offshore law firm Carey Olsen (www.careyolsen.com), is slated for 8th to 10th September 2023. As ever, the programme provides three days of fun, friendship and keen competition for cruiser, sportsboat, quarter ton, dayboat, sport-catamaran, dinghy and windsurfer classes. This annual sailing jamboree is an open event extending a very warm welcome to all, locals and visitors alike.
Racing takes place in the beautiful confines of St Aubin’s Bay and, in the case of the cruiser classes, the Island’s coastal waters. The Regatta opens with a reception on the Thursday evening with racing getting underway with a distance race for the cruiser classes on Friday morning and later in the day for all others. Saturday and Sunday see back-to-back racing for all classes under the auspices of separate race committees for the ‘big’ and ‘small’ boat fleets. There are place prizes and trophies each day for all classes and best-in-class prizes for the overall winners.
For the regular racing fraternity, the 10th GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship is open to all cruisers with a 2023 rating and will run within the programme over the Saturday and Sunday.
A full après-sailing programme, hosted by the clubs, brings each day to a close. All hospitality, bar Saturday’s Regatta Party Night (booked separately), is included in the entry fee with Ports of Jersey kindly supporting the event with complimentary berthing for competitors during the week leading to the Regatta.
The Notice of Race will be posted on the Regatta website, www.jerseyregatta.com , no later than the end of March when the on-line entry facility will open.
