Top Totty winners

The winners of the Yachts and Yachting Top Totty competition are Bryony Percy from Hayling Island SC and Europe sailor Chris Gill.
The competition, run as a fun poll, attracted a host of nominations, and votes flooded in for the final shortlist of 20, 10 male and 10 female sailors.
It was interesting to see that some 80 per cent of the votes went to the girls (our female readers seeemed a bit more reticent about voting!).
Bryony Percy led the girl’s title form day one and finished with 39 per cent of the vote. Below her the places were less predictable. Eventually it was Hannnah White who emerged in second (12 per cent), with Scandinavian Europe sailor and 2003 ISAF world sailor of the year Siren Sundby third, Yngling crew Sarah Ayton was fourth and solo ocean racer Ema Richards fifth.
The boy’s competition was wide open, Pete Greenhalgh was the early leader, but Chris Gill obviously has a large fan base and he was eventually an easy winner with 31 per cent of the vote. Runner up was Laser Olympic triallist Hugh Styles with 17 per cent, followed by a tie for third place between 2000 Finn gold medallist Iain Percy and 49er crew Mark Asquith, and Ben Ainslie fifth.
