by David Elliott 18 Aug 2008 09:16 BST 16-22 August 2008

Three races were completed today, each using the Outer Loop of a Trapezoid course. The first start was delayed until Noon to allow the wind to fill in and racing commenced in a Force 4 South-Westerly wind with strengthened as the afternoon progressed with Force 5 gusts.

Race 1

The Pin End was a popular place for many of the experienced crews who stayed on the left-hand side of the course. James Hayward/Alex Warrington (9631) lead at the first mark, from George Ayre/Nick Sutton (8542), Josh Flack/ Naomi Flack (8434) and Arthur Henderson/Matt Currell (8561). James and Alex lead throughout the race, winning by a minute at the finish. The following group traded places as the race developed, with Arthur and Matt taking second place from George and Nick.

Race 2

The fleet were away at the second attempt and the Pin End was again the place to be. At the first mark, Jonathan Kimber/Jonathan Van Ingen (8440) led from Will Matthews/Harriet Ayre (8847), with both holding these positions through to the finish. Tim Carter/Henry Stone (9374), George Ayre/Nick Sutton (8542) and Arthur Henderson/Matt Currell (8561) challenged for the minor places, with Tim and Henry taking third.

Race 3

The race started under a Black Flag and congestion at the Pin End was such that both James Hayward/Alex Warrington (9631) and Tim Carter/Henry Stone (9374) found themselves over the line. John Page/Alexander Page (8251) led from the first mark to take the gun from Arthur Henderson/Matt Currell (8561) in second and Josh Flack/Naomi Flack (8434) in third.
