Final day of racing for Team GB at 2004 Olympic Games
After fifteen days of racing, today sees the final day of sailing from the Agios Kosmas Sailing Centre at the 2004 Olympic Games.
All but two of the Olympic sailing disciplines have finished racing and today will see race eleven sailed in both the Tornado and Star classes.
It has been a fantastic Olympic Games for the British sailors who have won five medals in total, two gold’s, one silver, and two bronze medals. Unfortunately for the two classes racing today, a medal is out of reach but both Leigh McMillan and Mark Bulkeley in the Tornado class, and Iain Percy and Steve Mitchell in the Star, will be looking for a good final race to round off their Olympic campaigns.
Racing commences at 13 00 and the weather is forecast for a south westerly sea breeze which it is hoped will enable racing to get off on time.
You can follow the racing online at www.gbrsailing.org.uk where you will get live updates from the dinghy park and the results as they come in, as well as all the gossip from the Team GB camp. You can also leave messages of support for the team and your comments on the racing.
You will also be able to view the sailing on the BBC today. Interactive 1 will show live coverage from the Tornado and Star courses (Time TBC) and BBC 1 will also include live coverage throughout the afternoon as well as regular updates from the sailing venue. There will also be coverage of the days sailing activity on the BBC1 Olympic report programmes at 19 00 (BST) and 10 30 (BST). All TV details are correct at time of going to press.
