Topper Open at Great Moor Sailing Club

Great Moor Sailing Club hosted the first Topper Open Meeting of the Eastern Region 2009 Travellers’ Series. 22 boats competed in near perfect conditions; sun and a good force 3 to 4.

There was some very close racing throughout the fleet with most positions not being settled until the final race.

Toppers and teras at Bristol Corinthian A wonderful friendly welcome was given to the SWYSA sailors by Bristol Corinthian YC. For the first time this year, SWYSA is running two-day camps for the more experienced Topper and Tera sailors in addition to the traditional one-days. Soggy weather conditions and a tricky westerly wind for the final event of the series Soggy weather conditions and a tricky westerly wind direction greeted 29 Topper sailors to Spinnaker Sailing Club on 19th October. With capture the flag and tug of war Following the tradition started last year, the day of the annual Tera and Topper Open Meeting dawned sunny and windless. 17 youth sailors brave the uncertain forecast During the two weeks prior to Sunday 29th of September the forecast offered a variety of possible options, ranging from heavy rain with F8 gusts, to clear skies and no wind. When the day arrived, it settled somewhere in the middle. Posted on 9 Oct 2024
