Hyde Sails has announced the appointment of a new Hyde loft in Dublin.
Gavin Doyle will offer the full range of new Hyde sails, as well as a big and small boat repair service, with emergency sail repairs on request and a handy Dun Laoghaire drop off point at The National Yacht Club (or pick up from location by arrangement).
Gavin grew up sailing a Mirror, moving on to two-handed sailing in 420s and Fireballs as well as singlehanded sailing in a Laser. An ISA Senior Instructor and Racing Coach, he spent some time working in Boston as a sailing coach on J/24s, Solings, followed by a stint teaching Hobie sailing in Hawaii and in the Caribbean as a Skipper of live-aboard sail and diving training yacht for
teenagers.
His business in Dublin started off as a Brokerage, initially specialising in small one-design dinghies, expanding into the Yacht market in recent times with a small amount of repair work and yacht refurbishment. The Hyde deal provides a perfect complement to the brokerage service. Gavin explains: ‘I chose to work with Hyde because I know the sail quality is impeccable and the Hyde brand is an assurance of quality. Most importantly, for the racing sailor FAST SAILS = SILVERWARE.’
The appointment is part of Hyde’s expanding worldwide distributor network. Hyde’s Sales and Marketing Director Richard Franks commented: ‘This is another step in the global spread of the Hyde brand. We now have distributors in 15 countries, stretching from New Zealand to Denmark, giving our customers access to Hyde’s products and high quality local support wherever they are.’
