Laser South Coast Grand Prix at Mudeford Sailing Club

by Mike Roach 28 Jun 2009 19:51 BST 27 June 2009

Last year this regatta was held in a Force 6 blasting over Hengistbury Head, severly daunting a number of competitors.

This year on 27 June, the Laser South Coast fleet had a perfect sunny, breezy day at Mudeford with 18 Full Rig sailors led by locals Rob and James Spencer with Spinnaker's Matt Reid in third. Rob won the 2nd race from Matt with Weston's Ian Morgan 3rd. Only clubmate Richard Horn broke into this group in the last race.

The Radial fleet was dominated by Ben Elvin (Wembley) and Kerry Morgan (Weston) in all 3 races, only Michael Harris (Spinnaker) and Matt Hill (Mudeford) making any impression.

Many thanks to Ken and Lynnette White for the racing.

Overall Results:
