Transatlantic Maxi Yacht Cup starts tomorrow from Tenerife

On Monday the 23rd of November, the Transatlantic Maxi Yacht Cup, will depart from Tenerife, Canaries Island, bound to Sint Maarten, in the Caribbean.

Five nations are represented in the race: Argentina, Canada, China, Great Britain, Malta.

There will be a special competition for breaking the record of the course between the Hong Kong boat, Beau Geste, which had exceptional results in her first year of racing, winning also the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo, and the Argentinean boat Alexia, racing for the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, who has on board the crew which recently won the TP52 World Championship on Matador.

A tracking system provided by ASH on commission of the International Maxi Association will report the position of each competitor during the race.

The finish is expected in Sint Maarten at beginning of December.
