Training has started in earnest for the teams selected to represent GBR at this year’s Cadet World Championships in Puck, Poland from 22nd to 31st July 2010.
This weekend sees the second of two training events at Grafham Water. Some of the teams have entered Flanders Youth Week and further training is scheduled on arrival in Poland. Training is being organised by RYA National Cadet Coach, Adam Bowers and competitors are extremely grateful to the RYA for the considerable support being provided. James Dodd and Max Crowe have stood down as the reserve boat. Their place has been taken by Andrew Smith and Jack Collings from Royal Lymington/Frensham Pond, sailing 9243 Blue String Pudding.
The team has also secured their first commercial sponsor. Award-winning travel insurance specialists InsureandGo, have contributed £1,000 towards team funds and are providing shirts with Cadet class logos to each member. InsureandGo is the UK’s largest direct travel insurer covering over 2 million travellers last year and has also branched out into home, car, breakdown, life and pet insurance.
