This year the International 14 Prince of Wales series, supported by Oceanair, is being held at Hayling Island Sailing Club from 15th-18th July. Entries are coming in fast and with entry reduced by £20 if you enter before 5th July it’s worth entering now. Entry is online at www.hisc.co.uk

If you still need any persuasion here are a few highlights to whet your appetite:

  • The PoW race, on Friday 16th, for one of the oldest trophies in dinghy sailing and the winner takes all national championships – could one good shift be enough to get your name alongside the greats of dinghy sailing?
  • A mixture of race formats with the longer PoW race, two race days and one "supercup" day with three shorter races
  • Great socials including a PoW dinner on Saturday night included in the entry fee
  • Free beer
  • Good sailing conditions with easy launching
  • Old boats prize (pre 2001) and newcomers prize
  • New shorter 4 day event - meaning it's only 2 days off work
  • Cheap accommodation available at the club

The 14 class would also welcome any guests, particularly old 14ers, to the PoW dinner on Saturday 17th July at the club. Tickets can be obtained for £25 each from the club office on 023 9246 3768
