In the closest of finishes, Andrew Smith & Rory Burdock (Royal Lymington/Frensham Pond) sailing 9243 Blue String Pudding are the 2010 UK National Cadet Class champions. With 28 points from five podium places and three others single figure results, they finished one point ahead of Henry Mills & Robert Keen (Waldringfield) in 8845 Hot Rocks, who in turn finished one point ahead of Ben Binmore & Martha Jones (Royal Torbay) in 8440 Black Otter.

Today’s final race was won by Caroline Croft & Jacob Payne (Frensham Pond) in 7274 Wave Rider. Henry & Robert were second, Max & Francesca Ingall (Fishers Green) in 8855 Flirting With Danger, third, Mary Henderson & Annie Sibthorp (Salcombe/Itchenor) in 8561 Bad Influence, fourth, Oliver & William Palierakis (Fishers Green) in 7495, fifth and Ben & Martha, sixth.

The blustery conditions and poor visibility saw the Bronze fleet held ashore. Sam Yale & Lottie Passmore (Waldringfield) sailing 9369 won the overall prize with 14 points, including five bullets, one second, one third and a fourth. Sam Cooper & Alex Laidlaw (Frensham Pond) in 9151 took the runners-up position with 24 points with Charlie Anderson & Oli King (Frensham Pond) in 9634 third on 40 points.
