Streaker options - build your own Streaker from scratch

The popularity of this light weight single hander has never been so great. The class welcomed 32 new boats to join the fun in 2010. Already in 2011, 11 new boats will hit the water for the start of the season.
Originally designed by Jack Holt as a ‘light weight Solo’, when he was finding the Solo to difficult to haul back up the slipway as he was getting older. He succeeded beyond his wildest dreams; producing similar performance at lower cost while at the same time allowing a much wider range of helms to succeed as well as making the boat easier to handle ashore. Since 1975 the majority of Streaker’s have been built by their owners in wooden kit form.
The amateur built Streaker’s have won the national championships more times than professionally built Streaker’s, and examples of kit built Streaker’s could still be found finishing in the top 10 last year.
The Streaker Class dinghy today is a progressive one-design fully administered by the Streaker Class Owners Association. This responsive lightweight single hander gives you the full range of ‘build options’. Either; professionally built in FRP, All Wood and Composite (FRP hull with a wooden deck). It is still available as a ‘Kit of wooden parts’ ready for home completion.
New for 2011 the Streaker Class Owners Association are now able to offer Plans / Patterns from which a Streaker Class Dinghy can be built from scratch.
