Otte, Haven and Oost win

The 2011 edition of the European Springtime Yngling Championship, organised by Fraglia Vela Riva, Italy, came to a close today with all eight scheduled races completed. Four days of sun and winds provided the perfect conditions for a great Championship hard-fought to the very end.

The Dutch crew of Otte-Haven-Oost were yesterday so far ahead on points that they didn’t need to take part in the last race today. A well deserved victory for the crew who have held the lead since day two.

The Slovenian crew of Antoncic, Strakh, Nevecny, 5 points behind, managed to hold on to second place coming in third in today's final race.

Winds today were a little lighter than the previous days (6-7 m/sec). With a final win in today’s race the Dutch crew of Jamin-Smolders, Berens took 3rd place overtaking Gotschalk-Nittergard-Brendstring of Denmark who dropped into 4th place after finishing with a 14th position today.

Altogether there were 6 nations in the top ten. Quite a variety.

Everyone was very pleased with the organization of the regatta and weather conditions were once again fantastic on Trentino Garda.

Next up is the Olympic classes at Fraglia Vela Riva, Italy - Eurolymp Garda 2011 starts on Wednesday.
