The Cadet Open Regatta is running in Adelaide, alongside the Cadet World Championship. 66 Cadets are competing, and the British Boats have made a good start. Sam Brearey and Chris Videlo led the fleet in the practice race, but were overtaken by the eventual winners Hamish Stone and Jenny Sudell. Both Brits are sailing in borrowed Australian boats. After a magnificent opening ceremony involving dancing and live music, racing proper started today in uncharacteristicly light winds.
Katherine Kimber and Billie Quinlan from great Britain sailing Hot Rocks dominated the racing with a 2nd and a 1st. Hamish Stone and Jenny Sudell won the first race with a Tasmanian boat White Magic third, and Harry Harris and Jessica Quinlan 4th. Katherine and Billie won the second race by an impressive margin from Ben Stone and Theo Bull, also from Great Britain in 2nd and Lauren Hollaway and Georgina Kennedy from Tasmania in 3rd.
