Expectations are building nicely for West Riding SC’s Double Diamond Jubilee Regatta to be held over the weekend 26/27th May, and celebrating the club’s 75th anniversary.
As one of its attractions the regatta will be hosting the Streaker Inland Championship. It will also be featuring a Classic and Vintage Racing Dinghy class for boats designed before 1965 and over 25 years old, and supported by the CVDRA. This class will be strengthened by the presence of some of the home club Swordfish that have been sailing at West Riding SC since 1948.
The club also hopes to welcome back some of the regular regatta visitors from previous years as well introducing the event to newcomers, with class starts for Lasers and Solos plus a Mixed Dinghy fleet for monohulls with a PY 908 – 1386.
As usual there will be free camping, with the club and bar open from Friday evening. Reasonably priced food will be available from Saturday lunchtime to Sunday teatime, and there will be free entertainment on Saturday night in the shape of the West Riding Indoor Games Night, open to teams made up on the night from anybody who likes uninhibited good clean fun!
There will be a five race programme, with four to count, with the first race on Saturday at 14.00. Entry for double handed boats is £25 for the weekend, and £15 for singlehanders.
