National 12s looking forward to Gill Series at Salcombe

In just under a week the National 12 fleet are looking forward competing in the third event of the 2012 Gill Series at Salcombe Yacht Club. Salcombe has it all… sand, sea and sun (fingers crossed!) as well as arguably some of the most dramatic racing in the country – check out this video from last year’s event to see a taster!

The open meeting will take place over the bank holiday weekend, 5-7th May. With one race on the Saturday (13.50hrs start), two on the Sunday (with a visit to the beach for lunch) and one on Monday. Last year exciting winds led to quite a few capsizes, but it was Tom Stewart with Zoe Ballantyne who took home the trophy. Will the t-foiled Dead Cat Bounce rule the waves again this year or will the impressive local 12 fleet pip them to the post?
