Towergate Insurance launches unique three-month boat policy

Towergate Insurance today launched a unique three-month policy which gives boat and watercraft owners the option to pay for cover just until the end of the season.

Towergate estimates that 1 in 20 boat owners have let their insurance cover lapse due to a very wet start to the summer. Now the sunshine is finally here, many people will want to get their insurance in place so they can take to the water.

This exclusive product will be offered through the company's call centre in Shrewsbury for jet skis, rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) and small motorised craft.

Nigel Mills, Managing Director, Towergate Insurance (marine), said: "We are constantly looking at ways to make life easier for water lovers which is why we developed a product which is different to the rest of the market. We believe this is the only short-term boat insurance policy currently available. This new product will give uninsured boaters value for money by providing a cheaper way to get out and enjoy the rest of the season".
