Bavaria's new B One sportsboat will be making its debut at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week
Bavaria's New B One sportsboat will be making its first appearance at Cowes Week in the hands of the Hyde Sails team.
'Hyde B One' is the first of Bavaria's new boats to make an appearance in the UK and it will be competing for the whole week, crewed by various members of the Hyde team and a variety of Hyde customers.
Designed by Farr, the Bavaria B One has been developed by Peter Meyer with the team from Bavaria, while the sailplan has been developed in collaboration with Hyde Sails in the UK and the sails have been built by Hyde.
The B/One is 7m long, with a beam of 2.45m. The sail plan includes a square top mainsail, but interestingly there's no backstay. The upwind sail area is 32sq m, with a 9/10ths 46sq m asymmetric flown from a retractable bowsprit.
Hyde's Sales and Marketing Director, Richard Franks, said: "We're really looking forward to racing the boat at Cowes.
While it's the first B One to come to the UK, the class is really taking off in Europe and we've really enjoyed being involved in her development."
