The Sperry Top-Sider® stand at this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show features the new GripX3 Technology™ which is now available in the UK through a wide range of outlets. The technology was created in collaboration with Team Sperry Top-Sider, a world-class team of over 30 members who tested the footwear in extreme competitive conditions.
The new performance collection is designed for competitive sailors seeking the highest
standard of comfort, breathability and flexibility in their footwear with an emphasis on
superior grip and traction delivered through maximum surface contact and an innovative
rubber and tread combination. The hero products of the collection include the SeaRacer+,
designed for big boat racing and weekend cruising, and the SeaHiker, a pinnacle bootie
designed specifically for dinghy sailors.
GripX3 Technology features three major components that ensure unsurpassed traction and
grip. The outsole construction consists of a unique compound called Hydrogrip™ rubber
which works in combination with the patent-pending Adaptive Wave Siping™, a tread pattern
that was tested extensively using 1,000 different combinations of rubber and tread patterns.
The result is the "stickiest" and "grippiest" outsole Sperry has ever developed. The final
element of GripX3 Technology is Sperry Top-Deck 360™, a proprietary upper design that
provides superior grab and grip through additional rubber on the shoe's upper.
