Andy Knill from Maidenhead has been drawn as the lucky winner of the RYA Yacht Sailing Techniques book launch prize draw.
Simply by purchasing a copy of the book Andy was automatically entered into the free draw and has won himself the choice of either a free RYA Competent Crew Course or free RYA Day Skipper Practical Course courtesy of Sunsail.
"I am extremely pleased to have won as, having completed my Day Skipper Theory, I was planning on attending the Day Skipper Practical Course during the next 12 months, so this couldn't be better," explained winner Andy.
The RYA Yacht Sailing Techniques book was launched at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September when author Jeremy Evans joined the RYA Publications team on the RYA stand to tell visitors all about the book.
"I've found the RYA Yacht Sailing Techniques book to be a very informative book – well written, excellent illustrations and full of good, practical advice. I am looking forward to putting it into practice on the Day Skipper course," commented Andy.
The perfect companion for any skipper or crew looking for the basic skills to enjoy cruising in good conditions, the book covers the layout and equipment on a small to medium-sized yacht, the essential safety information that all need to know before getting under way, basic maintenance, manoeuvring in a marina, handling under sail, anchoring and mooring, and, of course, man overboard rescue strategy.
You can purchase a copy of the RYA Yacht Sailing Techniques online.
