Seamark Nunn wins Marine Retailer of the Year Award

Suffolk-based Yacht Chandlery Seamark Nunn was announced as Marine Retailer Of The Year at the Marine Trade Association / Boating Business (MTA/BB) annual industry awards dinner held on Tuesday evening at the London International Boat Show. The Marine Retailer of the Year is one of the premier accolades to be handed out by the MTA. In what the organisation's chairman Chris Murdoch described "as a very tough past 12 months for both the marine industry and the whole retail industry in general", this was an outstanding achievement for Seamark Nunn, who were established in 1961, to win this year's award.

The MTA/BB Awards are judged by a panel of different personalities who all have a firm foothold and a solid reputation within the marine industry. This award looks to acknowledge an outstanding contribution in the marine retail sector and helps the winning company gain invaluable respect in the industry. Customer service is high on the judges' list of priorities, as they believe that satisfied customers make for an active and successful industry.

The award was presented to Seamark Nunn managing director Andrew Nunn by one of the MTA/BB judging panel, Charlie Mill, MD of Ocean Safety Ltd. After receiving the award, Andrew commented, "This is an especially proud moment for me and the whole team at Seamark Nunn - to gain this level of recognition from within our industry is just fantastic.

During the last 12 months we've invested in refurbishing the inside of our chandlery store, and we have also re-launched our boating equipment website with a fresh new look with easier to use navigation – the feedback on these changes we've had from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive". He added "this award recognises the hard work and dedication of our brilliant team back at the office - but we also need to recognise the support and excellent back-up we receive from the marine equipment manufacturers and distributors we do business with. We now look forward to building on this success in 2013 – all we need is a guarantee of some decent sunshine this summer!"
