Hyde Sails UK Network is bigger than ever © Hyde Sails
Hyde Sails has a wide network of distributors across the UK, offering more sailors than ever the Hyde Sails mix of high quality sails combined with a personal, local service, which is second to none
2012 was a great year for the UK network of Hyde Sails agents and distributors, which can be nothing but good for customers present and future. The growth in the network of agents and distributers means that Hyde Sails is more local to more sailors than ever before, enabling the Hyde team to provide an even more personal service.
The first Hyde distributor conference was held during the Southampton Boat Show and was attended by not just the UK network members but also by many from Hyde's worldwide network including representatives from Australia, America and Europe.
Orders taken during the autumn/winter period have been diverse which highlights the range of sails now available from Hyde. Hyde's Portsmouth distributor, Mark Flew, has been working with the UK agent of a small beach trimaran and is now supplying them with sails made from 'Gitter', a bright and colourful laminate. Meanwhile, in Newcastle, Steve Douthwaite has been working with the Ocean Youth Trust and is looking forward to supplying them with Dacron sails for their 72ft training yachts. Back down in the south-east and Simon Northrop has been developing F18 sails along with selling and servicing many sails from his Ramsgate base.
Hyde's Celtic distributers have also been busy, with the Scottish contingent having a particularly good run of supplying membrane and panelled laminate race sails. Squib sails have become particularly popular in north Wales, with many of the recent National champions coming from this area, and a 'master class' with Hyde representation is being held soon for this popular keelboat class.
Across the water in Ireland and Mike Ennis has been busy spreading the word in the cruiser/keelboat arena. Meanwhile down in Cornwall, Fowey based Alan Harris has just taken delivery of some traditional 'square' tan sails for a local customer.
These represent just a small selection of the sails ordered recently. Couple this with the many other dinghy, keelboat and yacht sails for which Hyde is renowned and 2013 looks like it will be another strong year for Hyde Sails, whether it's in the cruising, racing or training arenas.
