2-3 March 2013
Over the next nine months the RYA will be issuing a series of video interviews from the RYA Dinghy Show 2013 giving you the opportunity to catch up on all the useful and insightful information shared at the show by the guest speakers and visiting sailors.
"Over 8,200 people visited the RYA Dinghy Show this year but we appreciate that some people just can't make it to the show so we decided to get interviews with the speakers and sailors so that everyone had the chance to hear all the useful information and knowledge they had to impart," explained RYA Dinghy Show manager, Helen Waterhouse.
Each month a new video will focus on one of the main stage talks or coaching area sessions with the presenters answering questions relating to their talks and will be available to view on the RYA Dinghy Show website (www.dinghyshow.org.uk) and Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/ryadinghyshow).
The series kicks off with British Sailing Team sailor Nick Thompson chatting with Paralympic Gold medallist Helena Lucas about getting a good start, based around their main stage talk on the same topic.
Hear from Helena about why it's important to make a good start and how a good start helped her in her Paralympic success. She also looks at how easy it is to maintain the lead after a good start and how it's still possible to clinch a win from a bad start. Hear about Helena's most memorable start and who she considers some of the best starters on the racing circuit.
