After a great start to the sailing season with significantly increased numbers out sailing, things at Elton just keep getting better and better as their two new Laser Bahias go on display. These two new additions to the training fleet will now enable Elton S C to continue with, and expand, their extensive training programme.
Elton S C have adopted a policy of dedicating Saturday's to training and have recently introduced several new initiatives to increase existing members skill levels and to attract new people and members into the Club and to the sport of sailing.
The most successful of these initiatives so far has been the introduction of a "Ladies who Launch" training session currently taking place on a Thursday evening from 1830 hrs onwards. The first session attracted sixteen Ladies ranging in age from fourteen to beyond. I am not at liberty to divulge any more.
Saturday's see Onboard sailing taking place from 1030 hrs until 12.30 hrs followed by Junior Training and Adult Development and Race Coaching Sessions from 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs.
Alongside all of the above anyone wishing to try out the sport can come down and have a free taster with one of our Instructors.
Many thanks to Sally Kilpatrick (RYA Regional Development Officer) for her assistance and support throughout the grant process.
