Bank Holiday Monday May 2nd saw Littleton Sailing host its first open day. Glorious sunshine and a stable but fresh wind made for a perfect day of sailing on the water. The 70 acre lake in Littleton Lane Shepperton is a great sailing venue, and the event attracted around 50 visitors from as far away as Reading over the day with many people joining the club on the spot.

The club offered sailing trips around the lake in its extensive club boat fleet, ranging from the Optimist class for children up to the exciting Laser 2000 with its asymmetric spinnaker for those after a great sailing experience.

The day was a great success LSC Rear Commodore Sue Antonelli club said “ Today was all about giving the opportunity to sail to as many people as possible.” The club plans to host similar events in the future.
