Radial gold for Annalise Murphy at the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik

Annalise Murphy won Gold today at the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik, Netherlands. She led the medal race from the first mark finishing with almost a one minute lead. This Gold medal win today is the second Gold for Annalise this month. She won Gold on 12 May at Italian Olympic Week.
Annalise went in to the medal race in third place two points behind Alison Young (GBR) and the London 2012 Silver medallist Marit Bouwemester (NED) also competing in the medal race was London 2012 Gold medallist Lijia Xu (CHN) who had to settle with sixth place.
After the race Annalise commented "I got so far ahead I didn't have to worry. I had a good week and am happy with my performance."
Commenting on today's win ISA Performance Director James O'Callaghan stated: "It was very tight on points and to come through such a close competition in a strong Olympic field will give Annalise great confidence."
Delta Lloyd Regatta is the second regatta in the Eurosaf series. In total five regattas will be sailed over the summer months with the next regatta, Sail for Gold, Weymouth UK 9–13 June followed by Kieler Woche, Germany later in June and finally Semaine Olympique Francaise in La Rochelle in the autumn.
