The International Moth inland championship will be at Queen Mary SC (Staines) over the weekend of 14th and 15th May. It promises to be quite a spectacle with the largest fleet of hydrofoil racing boats ever assembled.
The UK Moth fleet is leading the way in adopting the new foil technology with eighteen foil equipped Moths now sailing. These are a mix of new and converted boats. We expect up to fifteen foilers to compete at Queen Mary together with a fleet of conventional ‘lowrider’ Moths.
For anyone wanting to see the future of high performance sailing close-up, a trip to Queen Mary on the 14th or 15th is the place to be. Visitors are welcome at the Saturday evening barbecue. Sailors in other classes can bring their boats to Queen Mary and pay a day sailing membership fee or even hire boats from the club by the hour. Contact QMSC for details.
