Racing did not take place on Friday 26th as there was little or no wind, so Saturday was scheduled for three races.
After a wait for the wind, race four started in a light east north east breeze with just enough strength to stem the incoming tide, the fleet split right and left with neither side of the course appeared to be the dominant one.
For a time many boats found themselves tacking back and forth with little or no progress, however Kestrel 1610 Stewart and Mhairi Murdoch from the Royal Tay YC, managed to scrape around the windward mark and left the rest of the fleet struggling to make any headway against a strengthening tide, 1559 Ian Hunter and Trevor MacDonald from Royal Tay YC. along with 1545 Steve and Lin Worf from Calshot SC were the next 2 boats to get around the mark, but with a hopeless task of trying to catch the runaway Murdochs who were by now nearing the end of their first lap.
Fortunately the breeze started to increase enabling 1537 John and Olive Glasspool, 1551 Liam Pike and Alistair Luxford to be the next around the windward mark, a game of catchup with many place changes throughout the fleet followed, but with no-one able to make any impression on the leaders who were by now almost lapping the back of the fleet.
