Rooster 8.1 Nationals Cancelled

by Steve Cockerill 30 Oct 2013 16:01 GMT 2-3 November 2013

Dear fantastic, keen and slightly mad Rooster 8.1 sailors,

With great sadness I have to announce that the 8.1 Nationals has been cancelled due to the weather forecast.

I have Saturday's forecast here:
Forecast

Although I know we would like the challenge of racing our 8.1's in near 40 knot conditions with an 8.1 rig, it might be prudent to cancel the weekend.

We do have one more event on the calendar at Weirwood for the 14th December. I have yet to confirm that Weirwood would be happy to call it our Nationals - but I have prizes and a trophy to give away so someone's going to get them.

Rigs will be available for hire on the 14th. Contact me () should you intend to come - so I can organise enough rigs for you.

I understand that Berenice will be organising your refunds for entry and rig hire. I would like to also thank London Corinthian for all their help to organise this event. Perhaps next year we should avoid the autumn storms.

Hope to see you all at Weir Wood in December.

Cheers, Steve
