After a period of nine years without a manufacturer building new hulls, there will a new all singing and dancing Vortex on the Stand B44 at this year's RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show.
This will be the first boat out of the moulds and will be sporting lots of new features. An all carbon fixed mast and boom, composite foils and new kick bars will produce a boat which is 11 kilos lighter. Block supports around the boat will make it much more ergonomic for fittings and easier to adjust the rig. The class association will adopt a similar weight compensation scheme as used successfully by the contender class to integrate the new boats into the existing fleet.
The class feels as though the Vortex fills the niche for those sailors who want a stable, exciting fast, manageable, single handed trapeze dinghy which can be sailed by young, old, male or female.
Association members will be on the stand both days at the show to help with any questions and take orders for the new boat. We are opposite the Topper stand.
See you at the weekend!
