Rich Mason's video diary from the the Solo Maître Coq

by Artemis Offshore Academy 19 Mar 2014 14:56 GMT 13-15 March 2014

Artemis Offshore Academy skipper Rich Mason's video diary from the Solo Maître Coq - the first solo offshore race of his career.

Setting off on Thursday 13th March, the race was on of two halves, light winds and sun for the first 24 hours, and 18 knots and a cold mist for the second. Racing to the finish line in Les Sables d'Olonne, Rich, Clement Salze and Sébastien Simon were all gunning for the Rookie top spot - all taking their turn at the top of the podium in the last 24 hours of the race.

In the end, it was Sébastien who crossed the line first, with Rich just behind finishing 19th overall and 2nd Rookie - a great result for his first race and a testament to his hard work in training.
