26 March 2014
On Wednesday 26th March, World Champion helm Lucy Hodges MBE, accompanied by tactician Adam McGovern, will present the last in the series of Elton Sailing Club's Wednesday Evening Winter Talks.
The talks run from mid-February through to the start of the new sailing season that starts on 29th March.
Guest speakers for this year have included several of Elton Sailing Clubs own members to whom our thanks go out to for donating their time and efforts in providing us with an insight into a very varied range of topics.
For example; Elton SC President Carol Haines - Rules Talk, David Woodhead - Strategy and Tactics, Paul Savage - Elton Sailing Club's Offshore Secretary with video footage of previous outings, Dave Gamble & Ray Cumley with Race Result analysis and an insight into using a personal handicap system.
This week's talk promises to be inspirational as well as informative as Lucy shares her story and achievements with us.
Visitors as well as members are always welcome at Elton S C and I am sure a packed Clubhouse will make for an even more interesting evening in Lucy and Adams company.
Entry is free but Exit may attract a small voluntary donation to the Blind Sailing Association.
Lucy sails in category B2 which is defined as the ability to recognize the shape of a hand up to a visual acuity of 2/60 and/or a field of 5 degrees or less.
Start time 2000hrs.
