Following an excellent trip around the South coast of the UK we are returning back up North and heading over to Ullswater for a weekend in the Lakes. The VX One is as at home sailing inland as on the sea and we're looking forward to sailing at Ullswater before joining in at the Lord Birkett later in the year.

Boats are now heading out to customers in the UK and Europe and they are deciding which events to concentrate on. Kip Regatta and the Scottish Series at Tarbert are the first events followed by the Birkett.

The planning for the 2014 Nationals is well underway – to be held at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, 26 – 28 September.

If you fancy a try in the VX One this weekend or in the future please get in touch – Nathan Batchelor or 07738 984826.

VX One on the Ovington Boats website

The VX One is a 2 to 3 person keelboat with a light, easily driven hull by an efficient sail plan set on a full carbon rig. The boat can be launched simply off a dinghy style trolley or craned in using a single point lifting strop.

The off the boom mainsheet gives a huge uncluttered cockpit, whilst the self-tacking jib makes gybes easy when sailing 2 up. The jib furls for easy launching and recovery and for short-handed sailing or playing with the family. The spinnaker is launched using a single line hoist/ retrieval line making the process easy for anyone and a large chute mouth reduces friction.
